Justice Index (justiceindex.uk) is operated by HCEO LTD (Company No. 13112735). Justice Index is the umbrella for a family of reference platforms covering the law and justice system of England and Wales, including sentencing.uk, courts.uk, policing.uk, enforcement.uk, legislation.uk, and statutes.uk.
2. Nature of the Service
Justice Index platforms publish structured reference information sourced from official government open data. We are a software and information provider. We do not provide legal advice, legal representation, enforcement services, or debt collection.
Content is presented for general reference and educational purposes only. It should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal advice.
3. Accuracy and Sources
We take reasonable steps to ensure that information is accurate and current. All data is sourced from authoritative government publications including legislation.gov.uk, the Sentencing Council, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, data.police.uk, and the Ministry of Justice.
However, legislation and procedure change frequently. We do not warrant that content is complete, accurate, or up to date at all times. Users should verify information against primary sources before acting on it.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
Justice Index platforms are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HCEO LTD disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HCEO LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with your use of Justice Index platforms.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the service shall not exceed one hundred pounds (£100).
6. Intellectual Property
Legislation text and government data are reproduced under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and Open Parliament Licence. All other content, including site design, tools, analysis, and editorial material, is the property of HCEO LTD and protected by copyright.
7. Individual Platform Terms
Each Justice Index platform may have its own additional terms of service governing features specific to that platform, including user accounts, subscriptions, and interactive tools. Where platform-specific terms exist, they apply in addition to these terms.
8. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
